Documents Processed

Documents Processed is our main currency in the use of our API. Every action in the API is either for getting data, or processing data. The cost is based on the number of "documents" that each action processes. A "document" is defined as a piece of text that was published by someone at a particular date. A document can be anything from a blog post, to a Tweet.

If you execute a search query and obtain 1500 results, this corresponds to 1500 documents processed. If you then generate a report based on this data, the cost is another 1500 document units. If you run 10 reports, that's 15,000 documents processed.

The pricing therefore reflects a combination of data storage and processing power. Larger data sets are more expensive to obtain and subsequently analyze. The documents processed limit on a monthly basis expires at the end of that month and are not carried over to the following month.
